Qobolwakhe Sibande returns for second spell with Stellenbosch FC
Stellenbosch FC is delighted to announce the signing of Qobolwakhe Sibande, who has returned to the Club for a second spell.
Sibande, who started his professional career with Stellenbosch FC, has returned to the Cape Winelands ahead of the 2026-27 season after rejoining the Maroons on loan from Egyptian Premier League side Petrojet SC.
Having graduated from Stellenbosch’s DStv Diski Challenge programme, he made his senior debut for the Club in 2022 and went on to make 42 appearances across all competitions, winning the Carling Knockout during his spell.
Sibande departed for TS Galaxy in 2024 and spent a season-and-a-half with the Rockets before joining Petrojet in Egypt, where he featured nine times for the North African outfit last term.
“I’m very excited to be back at Stellenbosch FC,” Sibande said. “I was very happy to have received the call. At first I couldn’t believe it, and then the excitement kicked in because it’s an incredible opportunity for me to come back home.
“I grew up as a young player with Stellenbosch and learned a lot about football during my first spell. I’ve since gained more experience during my time away, so I’m looking forward to being back, doing my best, and using that experience to help the Club succeed.”
