In-form Kwayiba excited for DC debut against Chippa United
Sinoxolo Kwayiba is hoping to build on his midweek brace when Stellenbosch FC take on his former side Chippa United this weekend.
Kwayiba grabbed the headlines on Wednesday evening when he scored two late goals against Durban City to fire Stellenbosch FC through the quarter-final of the Carling Knockout Cup.
“First of all, I want to say thank you to the Man above,” the 26-year-old said. “It was not an easy game but we prepared very well. We knew that it was going to be a physical game but we were prepared for that.
“That’s why we pushed from the first minute until the last. That [preparation] helped us fight to the end, so I am happy with our performance from Wednesday.
“It was also a good feeling for me to score those goals. I was looking to get one but ended up with two, so I am happy about that. Now I have to keep on pushing to get more.”

Kwayiba will be hoping those goals come on Saturday when he takes on his former side Chippa United in a league encounter, in what will also be his first appearance for STellenbosch at Danie Craven Stadium.
“To play against Chippa United is not going to be an easy game, because we played on Wednesday and now again on Saturday, but that’s what we get paid for, so we’re going to rise up and do our jobs.
“We’ll push, and as much as it won’t be an easy game, we’ll do our best to put in a good performance. It’s going to be my first game at the Danie Craven Stadium so I hope to do my best to help the team get the three points, which I believe we can get.”
The Betway Premiership fixture between Stellenbosch FC and Chippa United is scheduled to kick off at 18h00 on Saturday, 31 October. Tickets are available at R40 p/p from Webtickets.
