Club History
2016
National First Division Club Vasco Da Gama relocate to Stellenbosch and are rebranded as Stellenbosch Football Club, becoming the first ever professional football team from the Winelands region.
2016/17
Stellenbosch FC competes in the NFD for the first time and ends the maiden maiden campaign in third place, narrowly missing out on promotion to the top-flight.
2018
REMGRO / Stellenbosch Academy of Sport (SAS) purchases Stellenbosch F.C. to usher in a new era of growth at the Club. Under the new ownership, Stellenbosch F.C. becomes an anchor tenant at SAS and gains access to state of the art training facilities and strategic partnerships.
2018/19
Stellenbosch FC is crowned 2018/19 National First Division champions and the Club is promoted to the DStv Premiership.
2019
The Stellenbosch FC. Youth Academy is officially launched and with it a pathway is created that has since seen many young players break into professional football.
2019/20
The Club commences with its first ever top-flight campaign during the 2019/20 DStv Premiership season.
2021
The Danie Craven Stadium becomes the home venue for Stellenbosch FC.
2021
Athenkosi Mcaba debuts with the South African national team to become the first Stellenbosch FC player to represent Bafana Bafana. A total of five players from the Club have since donned the country's jersey at senior level.
2021/22
SFC finish in a club-record fourth position in the PSL to qualify for the MTN 8 competition for the first time.
2021/22
Stellenbosch FC's Reserves win the DStv Diski Challenge and defeat Leicester City to be crowned Premier League Next Generation Cup champions in the United Kingdom.
2022/23
Stellenbosch FC reaches the Nedbank Cup semi-finals for the first time. The club's Reserve team are runners up at the Premier League Next Generation Cup in India.

SFC is permanently based at SAS (the Stellenbosch Academy of Sport) and will play home matches at two venues.
