Stellenbosch FC’s Fawaaz Basadien, Ashley Cupido, and Thabo Moloisane have been called up to the Bafana Bafana squad for next month’s international friendlies.

The Stellies trio of Fawaaz Basadien, Ashley Cupido, and Thabo Moloisane have been named in the Bafana Bafana squad for South Africa’s upcoming international friendlies against Tanzania and Mozambique next month.

The national team, led by head coach Hugo Broos, will use the matches as part of their ongoing preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations, which are set to take place later this year.

Basadien started in both of South Africa’s last two matches as they recorded back-to-back wins over Lesotho and Benin in March, with club teammate Moloisane an unused substitute in the same fixtures.

Cupido, meanwhile, returns to the international fold for the first time since July last year when he represented his country at the 2024 COSAFA Cup tournament in Gqeberha.
