Third-ever meeting between Stellies & Durban City: Pre-match stats
The Betway Premiership encounter between Stellenbosch FC and Durban City will be just the third-ever meeting between the clubs across all competitions.
The two sides met for the first time last season and played out a goalless draw in both of their two meetings in the Betway Premiership.
Stellenbosch FC full-back Terrence Mashego will be returning to his former stomping ground, where he spent the 2025-26 season on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.
Similarly, Kyle Jurgens could face Stellies for the first time since completing a permanent transfer to Durban City at the start of the campaign. Ex-Maroon Liam De Kock is also on the books of the opposition.
Just one point separates eighth-placed Durban City from 11th-placed Stellenbosch FC in the Betway Premiership standings heading into the match.
Tuesday’s encounter will be Stellenbosch’s third match in Durban across the opening five match weeks of the season, having previously played AmaZulu and Golden Arrows in Kwa-Zulu Natal.
Quwan Plaatjies is Stellies’ leading goalscorer with three goals so far for the campaign – all three goals coming in the form of a hat-trick on his debut against Marumo Gallants last month.
Nineteen-year-old Raoul Daniels has the joint-most assists in the league this season (2). He also delivered the cross that was turned in for an own goal scored during the recent draw against Polokwane City.
Both of his assists were scored by Plaatjies – no two players in the league have directly combined for more goals this season.
