Stellies bag all three points with victory over Magesi
Stellenbosch FC returned to winning ways on Tuesday after recording a 2-1 Betway Premiership win over Magesi at Danie Craven Stadium.
Stellenbosch took the lead in the 21st minute when Ashley Cupido latched onto a pinpoint cross from Fawaaz Basadien to prod the ball home (Magesi’s Mzwandile Buthelezi was later credited with an own goal after being deemed to have got the decisive touch).

However, Stellies’ advantage would not last long as the guests hit back almost immediately through the boot of Given Mashikinya, who made the most of havoc caused by the windy conditions to level the scoring.
Cupdio was not to be denied his goal on the night though, and put the home team back in front in the 37th minute when he broke the offside trap before firing a composed finish past Magesi goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze.
That proved to be the decisive blow in the encounter as there was no change to the scoreline in the second half, leaving Stellies to walk home with all three points on the night.
