Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker has provided an injury update on striker Lehlohonolo Mojela.

Mojela last featured for Stellenbosch on 5 October when he scored in the MTN8 final against Orlando Pirates, but has missed the club’s last three fixtures against AmaZulu, Chippa United, and Richards Bay with a knee injury.

“He will likely start training in the next week or so,” Barker said. “Initially the prognosis was worse, but after a follow-up, he will most likely start integrating back into training next week.”

Mojela has made a fast start to life with Stellenbosch by scoring six goals in nine appearances since joining the club at the start of the season, and his absence was felt during a goalless draw against Richards Bay on Saturday.

“With Mojela out, and Andre de Jong and Athenkosi Mcaba not available for the game – all players who have done really well this season – we missed them, but hopefully Bradley can get back to being available as soon as possible.”
