Titus: Wins over Sundowns a good stepping stone for AS Vita clash
Devin Titus is hoping to build on the momentum from Stellenbosch FC’s recent MTN8 semi-final win over Mamelodi Sundowns with another strong performance in the CAF Confederation Cup against AS Vita Club.
Stellenbosch FC play host to Congolese side AS Vita Club in the first leg of their CAF Confederation Cup Second Preliminary Round tie on Friday evening, with the match set to take place at DHL Stadium in Cape Town.
Stellies head into the encounter on the back of a five-match winning streak across all competitions, which included back-to-back wins over Mamelodi Sundowns in the recent MTN8 semi-finals.

“It’s a privilege to be here, in this stage of the CAF Confederation Cup,” Stellenbosch forward Devin Titus said during Thursday’s pre-match press conference.
“The mood in the camp is very good, very happy and energetic – as you know we are an energetic club – and I think the two wins over Mamelodi Sundowns were impressive for us.
“Playing against a team like Sundowns and winning both home and away was a very good stepping stone for us heading into the match against AS Vita and hopefully we can carry that momentum heading into these two matches against them.”
The CAF Confederation Cup encounter between Stellenbosch FC and AS Vita Club kicks off at 19h00 on Friday evening and tickets are on sale for R50.00 from Webtickets outlets. The match will not be broadcast.
