Stellies quartet called up for U-20 Africa Cup of Nations
Stellenbosch FC’s Faiz Abrahams, Langelihle Phili, and Tylon Smith, alongside youth goalkeeper coach Morne Crumpton, will travel to Egypt to represent South Africa in the 2025 CAF U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.
Last week, the Stellies quartet was named in coach Raymond Mdaka’s squad for the showpiece continental competition which is scheduled to take place in the land of the Pyramids between 27 April and 18 May.
South Africa has been drawn in Group A alongside Sierra Leone, Zambia, and Tanzania and hosts Egypt, in the tournament that also serves as the qualification process for the U-20 FIFA World Cup later this year.

Abrahams, Phili, and Smith were all part of the most recent squad that recorded back-to-back friendly wins over Botswana, with Phili scoring in both matches, while Smith was previously part of the team that won the 2025 U-20 COSAFA Cup.
