Jayden Adams and Fawaaz Basadien called up to Bafana Bafana squad
The Stellenbosch FC duo of Jayden Adams and Fawaaz Basadien have been called up to represent South Africa in this month’s 2025 CAF Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Congo.
On Thursday afternoon, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos announced his 23-man squad that will take on Congo in back-to-back AFCON qualifiers later this month.

Stellenbosch FC has two representatives in the squad after Jayden Adams and Fawaaz Basadien were both included in the selection, while Devin Titus, who was part of the preliminary squad, misses out this time around.
Adams has won five caps for Bafana Bafana to date and competed at the 2023 AFCON in Ivory Coast, while Basadien is in line to potentially make his international debut.

The first encounter between South Africa and Congo is set to take place in Gqeberha on Friday, 11 October, before the national team takes to the road for the reverse fixture four days later.
