Stellies duo named in preliminary South Africa U-20 squad
Fresh from winning the Premier League Next Generation Cup with Stellenbosch FC’s reserve team, Langelihle Phili and Tylon Smith have been named in South Africa’s preliminary squad for upcoming friendlies against Lesotho.
South African U-20 men’s national team head coach Raymond Mdaka has named a preliminary squad for two international friendlies against Lesotho which will be used as preparation for the upcoming 2024 COSAFA U-20 Championships.

Among the players named in his selection is the duo of Langelihle Phili and Tylon Smith, who were part of the Stellies squads that won the recent DStv Diski Challenge and Premier League Next Generation Cup competitions.

The pair will be joined in camp on 11 August by Stellies’ youth goalkeeper coach Morne Crumpton ahead of the back-to-back friendlies that are scheduled to be held in Lesotho on 16 and 18 August. You can see the full squad here.
