Steve Barker is hoping to see his side pick up where they left off in 2023 with a strong performance against SuperSport United on Friday evening.

Stellenbosch FC have traveled to Pretoria where they are set to take on the challenge of SuperSport United in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium.

The tie will pit third-placed Matsatsantsa against Steve Barker’s fourth-placed Stellies and the coach is hoping to build on an unbeaten run of seven matches in the league (11 in all competitions) when the two sides meet.

“Preparations have gone well for this evening’s match,” Barker said ahead of the clash.

“We’re really eager to get back on the playing field after not having played for a while. I believe we’ve prepared well over the last couple of weeks and the team is in good spirits.

“It’s also good to welcome Jayden Adams back after his succesful trip with the national team. He’s raring to get back on the field for us and make an impact.

“We have good momentum coming into this match from the previous four wins in a row we recorded in the league, so it’s important to start 2024 on a real high with a big performance and a good result against a difficult opponent.
