Phili claims unprecedented four-trophy haul at Stellenbosch FC awards
Langelihle Phili’s stellar campaign was crowned on Tuesday when he was recognised with an unprecedented four awards at the annual Stellenbosch FC awards ceremony.
The 21-year-old, who has scored nine goals and assisted another for Stellenbosch this season, took home the biggest haul of the night after picking up the Rama Fans’ Player of the Season, Oshwin Andries Young Player of the Season, Players’ Player of the Season, and Top Goalscorer awards.
Phili topped the votes ahead of Devin Titus and Mthetheleli Mthiyane en route to being named the fans’ favourite, saw off competition from the latter and Sage Stephens to claim the Players’ award, and pipped Omega Mdaka and Asekho Tiwani to the Young Players’ title.

“Firstly, I want to thank the coaches, my teammates, and everyone who made this moment possible for me,” Phili said. “I am very happy and feel like this is a motivation for me to keep on trying to deliver my best for the team moving forward.
“The Players’ Player of the Season award is particularly special, because that comes from my teammates. We all voted, and they voted for me, so I’m glad that they value my efforts and that they have my back and believe in me.”
“These awards are a very good motivation for me and give me hunger for what I can still achieve. I just have to keep my head down, be humble, respect my coaches and teammates, and do my best on and off the pitch.”
Phili is the third winner of the Rama Fans’ Player of the Season, following last year’s winner Sihle Nduli, and the inaugural recipient Iqraam Rayners, and was personally presented with his trophy by Rama Brand Manager, Wandile Ngubane.
