Pre-match stats: Stellenbosch FC vs Orbit College
The Betway Premiership encounter between Stellenbosch FC and Orbit College will be only the second meeting between the two sides across all competitions.
The first meeting took place in November last year when Stellenbosch recorded a dramatic 2-1 come-from-behind Betway Premiership victory over Orbit in Rustenburg.
Defender Athenkosi Mcaba scored a 92nd-minute winner for the Maroons on the night by netting the first professional goal of his career.
This time around, Stellies will be without the services of Mthetheleli Mthiyane and captain Sage Stephens, who are both suspended for Saturday’s clash
Mthiyane’s dismissal against Durban City last week was the eighth red card shown to a Stellenbosch FC player this season across all competitions – a new club record.
Meanwhile, Oscarine Masuluke or Lee Langeveldt are the possible replacements for Stephens in goal, both of whom would be making their first Betway Premiership appearances of the season if they play.
Langelihle Phili is one goal away from scoring 10 goals for the season and will become the first player to hit double figures for Stellenbosch in the current campaign if he finds the back of the net.
It would also see him become only the fourth player to reach double figures for the Club in a single campaign – after Iqraam Rayners (four times), Devin Titus (twice), and Junior Mendieta.
