Stellenbosch FC coach Gavin Hunt is expecting a tough encounter under challenging conditions when his side takes on AS Otoho in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Stellenbosch have traveled to the Republic of Congo where the team is set to take on AS Otoho in a CAF Confederation Cup Group C encounter in Brazzaville on Sunday afternoon.

Heading into the tie, just two points separate fourth-placed Stellies from the hosts in second position, leaving it all on the line to play for as the Group Stage nears its conclusion.

“We had two very difficult games against CR Belouizdad, away and at home, but I thought we didn’t play that badly, especially at home last week,” Hunt said ahead of the match.

“This will be a different and difficult type of game because of the surface, playing on an astro turf and not grass, so it’s very different, and we will need to be clever in how we want to play.”

He added, “We’ve got two games left, and I think possibly four points will get us through [the Group Stage], so it’s important that we’re not too negative in our approach and that we try to create chances where we can.”

Sunday’s tie, which is scheduled to kick off at 15h00 (SAST), will be the second meeting between the two sides, with Stellenbosch having emerged as 1-0 victors in the reverse fixture in November, courtesy of a goal from Ashley Cupido.
