Faiz Abrahams, Langelihle Phili, and Tylon Smith have been named in South Africa’s provisional squad for the upcoming U-20 COSAFA Championships.

This week, South African U-20 Men’s National Team head coach, Raymond Mdaka, named a preliminary squad of 32 players for the upcoming U-20 COSAFA Championships.

Stellenbosch FC trio, Faiz Abrahams, Langelihle Phili, and Tylon Smith, have been included in the selection and could feature at the tournament which is set to be held in Mozambique from 26 September 2024 to 5 October 2026.

South Africa have been drawn in Group C alongside Malawi, Comoros, and Lesotho and will be looking to win the competition for the first time since 2018.

Stellies will also be represented by the club’s youth goalkeeper coach, Morne Crumpton, who has once again been entrusted with ensuring South Africa’s ‘keepers are up to the task.

The final squad and fixture details are expected to be confirmed in the coming days.
