International round-up: Rayners features for Bafana Bafana
Stellenbosch FC striker Iqraam Rayners featured on international duty for South Africa as the national team claimed a point in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Nigeria on Friday evening.
Rayners was named in the starting XI by head coach Hugo Broos and featured for 71 minutes as Bafana Bafana earned a 1-1 draw against the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Nigeria.
Winning his eighth international cap, the 28-year-old looked menacing with his movement throughout the encounter and was unlucky to see a one-on-one opportunity ruled out for offside in one of his most notable involvements of the first half.

The result leaves South Africa fourth in the Group C standings with four points claimed after three matches played, equal on points with Benin and Rwanda, and one point behind log-leaders Lesotho.
Rayners and Stellies teammate Jayden Adams, who was an unused substitute on the night, could be in action again on Tuesday when South Africa hosts neighbours Zimbabwe in another qualifier in Bloemfontein.
