Stellenbosch FC’s Fawaaz Basadien, Iqraam Rayners, and Devin Titus have been named in the Nedbank Cup Team of the Season.

The trio’s performances throughout the 2023/24 Nedbank Cup campaign, which helped Stellenbosch FC reach a second consecutive semi-final, were recognised on Tuesday afternoon when they were named in the competition’s Team of the Season.

Rayners makes the team after recording four assists, all of which came in a 6-1 Round of 16 win over Milford FC, and scoring once in the tournament, and remains in the running to win the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament – an award he won last season.

Titus features alongside him after scoring three times in the competition, a return that also earned him a second consecutive nomination for the Most Promising Player of the Tournament award, while Basadien’s single assist and defensive acumen earned him a spot in the defence.
