Stellenbosch FC head coach Steve Barker is expecting a tough encounter when his side comes up against in-form TS Galaxy in the DStv Premiership on Sunday.

On the back of a mid-week encounter against Sekhukhune United, Stellenbosch FC will be straight back in action this weekend when they take on the Rockets in a league encounter at Mbombela Stadium.

Sunday’s encounter will be the first meeting between the two sides since Stellies emerged victorious over Galaxy in the Carling Knockout final last year, and coach Steve Barker is expecting a tough clash on the road.

“We’re expecting a tough match against TS Galaxy,” Barker said. “They are in good form and have a well-coached and well-organised team.

“They’ve got quality all around and have shown consistency in their selections this season, so they have found their groove and are one of the teams who are currently a force to be reckoned with in the league.

“We’re coming off a mid-week game against Sekhukhune United so it’s a massive challenge for us to play two really good teams away from home.

“However, if we want to achieve what we have set out to achieve, which is to finish as high as possible in the league, it’s these types of games where we have to find the commitment and quality to get maximum points.”

Sunday’s match between Stellenbosch FC and TS Galaxy is scheduled to kick off at 17h30 at Mbombela Stadium and will be broadcast live on SuperSport PSL channel 202.
