Stellenbosch FC midfielder Jayden Adams has been named in South Africa’s preliminary 44-man squad for next month’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda.

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos on Tuesday announced an extended 44-man squad for the country’s upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifiers Benin and Rwanda, scheduled to take place between 17 and 21 November, respectively.

Included among Broos’ provisional selection, which will be trimmed to 23 players in the coming weeks, is Stellenbosch FC midfielder Jayden Adams who has earned the nod after enjoying an impressive start to the 2023/24 domestic campaign.

Adams’ inclusion sees him return to national team consideration for the first time since July 2022 when he represented South Africa at senior level at the 2022 COSAFA Cup competition, winning three caps in the process.
