A dominant performance at the Danie Craven Stadium saw Stellenbosch FC emerge 3-0 victors over TS Galaxy in their DStv Premiership encounter on Wednesday.

Stellenbosch FC returned to winning ways in emphatic fashion on Wednesday evening after recording a 3-0 win over TS Galaxy, courtesy of goals from Thabo Moloisane, Devin Titus, and Antonio van Wyk.

The home side signaled their intentions from kick-off with captain Deano van Rooyen, back from injury, leading the charge down the right flank. He created the first chance of significance when he beat his marker and played in Andre De Jong, who fired his effort just wide.

Ivory Coast international Anicet Oura came close to opening the scoring just moments later when he stung the palms of Galaxy goalkeeper Vasilije Kolak before the ball was cleared for a corner.

The resultant set-piece led to Stellenbosch’s opening goal as Thabo Moloisane rose highest to head his side into the lead by scoring his first goal for the club.

Not satisfied with a one-goal lead, Steve Barker’s side continued the offensive and Oura and Devin Titus had efforts on goal blocked before the former had another chance cleared off the goal-line with just under half an hour played.

A reward would be forthcoming shortly thereafter when Titus doubled the advantage with a powerful right-footed effort, cutting in from the flank and firing an unstoppable effort beyond Kolak.

Qobolwakhe Sibande was next to test the goal with a long-range effort that sailed over the bar before he came close to finding Anicet for a third. From left-back, he embarked on a lung-busting run before playing a near-inch perfect pass to Oura, who just couldn’t get his toe on for the finishing touch.

That proved to be the last chance of the first stanza but it was more of the same in the second half, and Stellenbosch found a third shortly after the hour-mark through substitute Antonio van Wyk.

Having come on as a substitute just moments before, Van Wyk embarked on a mazy run through the opposition defence before rolling the ball into the goal from an acute angle.

A succession of fouls from the away team stifled the flow of the game during the latter stages of the encounter as Stellenbosch saw out the victory to extend their unbeaten run against the Rockets to 10 matches across all competitions.
