Stellenbosch Football Club is delighted to announce that the club has acquired the services of Ivorian defender Ismaël Olivier Touré on a permanent transfer from Marumo Gallants.

The 25-year-old has been signed on the back of an impressive debut season in South African football in which he starred for Gallants in both the DStv Premiership and their run to the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final.

Touré also boasts experience in the CAF Champions League from his previous spell with Ivorian side ASEC Mimosas and arrives at the Danie Craven Stadium as a welcomed defensive reinforcement.

“Touré is undoubtedly one of the very best defenders in our league and an important signing for our club,” head coach Steve Barker said.

“He showed his qualities throughout last season with Marumo Gallants, including outstanding performances in the Confederations Cup.

“He is a physically commanding centre-back who is good with the ball at his feet, and we believe that he will be a big addition to our squad.”
