  • The final 23-man squad is expected to be confirmed during the course of next week.

On Thursday, South Africa Under-23 men’s national team coach David Notoane named his provisional 29-man squad for the upcoming CAF U-23 Olympic qualifiers against Congo, with the Stellenbosch F.C. quintet of Athenkosi Mcaba, Olwethu Makhanya, Jayden Adams, Devin Titus and Antonio van Wyk included in the selection.

South Africa are set to take on their Congolese opponents in a double-header later this month, with the first match set to take place at the Dobsonville Stadium on Thursday, 23 March 2023, before the team travels to Brazzaville for the second leg on the weekend of 26/27 March 2023.

The announcement comes just days after Stellenbosch Academy duo Jordan Hendriks and Roger Willems were called up to the national U-16 team for an upcoming international youth competition in Poland, where South Africa will compete against Northern Ireland, Luxembourg, and the host nation.
