Friday evening’s Betway Premiership encounter between Stellenbosch FC and Marumo Gallants will be the 11^th meeting between the two sides across all competitions.

Stellenbosch have won four of the previous ten fixtures against Gallants across all competitions, including the corresponding home match last season when Langelihle Phili scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory.

Given Msimango and Kgaogelo Ramush are in line to make their respective debuts, while Qobolwakhe Sibande could make his second debut after returning to the club at the start of the season.

Having recently returned to the Winelands, Ashley Du Preez will make his 100^th Stellenbosch FC appearance, across two spells, if he features for the Maroons on Friday evening.

The 29-year-old will become the 14^th player to reach the milestone for the Club but only the third born in Stellenbosch, after Deano van Rooyen and Jayden Adams.

Du Preez was also the goalscorer in the first-ever meeting between the two sides when he netted the only goal in a 1-0 win for Stellies back in October 2021.

Meanwhile, Gallants’ midfielder Ndabayithethwa Ndlondlo is the leading goalscorer in fixtures between Stellies and Gallants with three goals to his name across all competitions.

During Stellenbosch FC’s mid-week draw against Polokwane City, Sinoxolo Kwayiba and Raoul Daniels both scored their first goals for the club.

Friday’s encounter will be coach Gavin Hunt’s 25^th match in charge of Stellenbosch FC since joining the Club in December last year.
