The Betway Premiership encounter between Stellenbosch FC and Polokwane City will be the 11^th meeting between the two sides across all competitions.

Stellenbosch have won five of the previous ten fixtures against Rise and Shine but suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat in the corresponding outing between the two sides last season.

The fixture will also notably be Stellies’ 300^th league match of all time, including fixtures played across the Premiership and National First Division.

If he features on Tuesday, new Stellenbosch FC signing Kgaogelo Ramushu will make his debut for the Maroons against his former employers.

In addition to Ramushu, Nathan Garrow, Terrence Mashego, Given Msimango, Gopolang Taunyana, and Bradley Grobler could all also be in line to make their respective debuts.

Devin Titus has scored twice for Stellenbosch FC against Polokwane City – the most in the fixture by any player from either side who is currently still at their club.

However, Iqraam Rayners is the record goalscorer after scoring seven times for the Maroons, including a five-goal haul in April 2024 that saw him equal the PSL record for the most goals in a match.

The fixture has seen two own goals in the past; one for Polokwane City by Ismael Toure, and one for Stellies by Bulelani Nikani – the joint-most in matches involving Stellenbosch (alongside Royal AM and TS Galaxy).

Stellenbosch will be looking to pick up their first points of the season after suffering a narrow 1-0 opening-day defeat to AmaZulu on 1 August.

Conversely, the hosts started their campaign with a win after their 2-1 victory away to Richards Bay on the opening weekend.
