Friday’s Betway Premiership encounter between Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United will be the 13^th meeting between the two sides across all competitions.

Tshegofatso Mabasa became just the eighth player to score on debut for Stellenbosch when he netted the winning goal in a 1-0 victory for the Club in the reverse fixture in January.

That same fixture saw Stellenbosch FC head coach Gavin Hunt open his account with a win on his managerial debut with the Club.

Mabasa, meanwhile, is also the only player to have scored both for and against Stellies in fixtures involving Sekhukhune United, having previously netted for Babina Noko during a loan spell in 2022.

Stellenbosch have won their last three Betway Premiership encounters against Sekhukhune United, having gone winless in the previous six league meetings before that.

Chibuike Ohizu, now at Siwelele FC, is the leading goalscorer in matches between Stellenbosch FC and Sekhukhune United, having netted four times in the fixture for the Gauteng-based team.

Should Ibraheem Jabaar feature in the match, he will make his 140^th appearance and overtake Jayden Adams to climb to fourth on Stellenbosch FC’s all-time appearance list.

Langelihle Phili has scored nine goals across all competitions this season. If he nets against Sekhukhune, he will be the first Stellies player to achieve double figures during the current campaign.

Last week, Genino Palace scored his second goal in his last three appearances for Stellenbosch, having scored only once in his previous 94 outings for the Club.
