Hunt: This will be a different game against Arrows
Stellenbosch FC coach Gavin Hunt is expecting a different game on Wednesday when his side meets Golden Arrows for the second time in a month.
Stellenbosch have travelled to Durban this week, where they are set to take on Golden Arrows in a Betway Premiership encounter at King Zwelithini Stadium.

Heading into the tie, Stellies and Abafana Bes’thende are separated only by goal difference in the league standings and will both be looking to climb into the top eight with a win on Wednesday.
“We were hugely disappointed against Galaxy [last weekend] because I felt it was a real chance for us, but the way we started the game was really poor. We did come back into it, but it was disappointing,” Hunt said.
“Now, tomorrow again, we take on Golden Arrows, who are right above us or on us with the same points in the league, so it’s really crucial that we come away with something against them.”
The mid-week encounter comes less than a month after Stellies were controversially eliminated by Arrows in the Nedbank Cup, but Hunt believes things will be different this time around.
“This will be the second time that we play them in a month. We played really well in the first game, and I think we were unfortunate, but we missed a lot of opportunities,” he added.
“We didn’t take our chances, and they took the one they had, so we got beaten and knocked out of the Nedbank Cup, but this will be a different game.”

The coach also had a few words to spare on striker Wonderboy Makhubu, who scored his first Stellenbosch goal during the 1-1 draw against TS Galaxy last Friday.
“Wonderboy has done okay,” Hunt reflected. “He’s come in and given us something different from what we had upfront and a few different options to play with. He has got his first goal now, and I think he will be a big part of the Club going forward.
“We just need to let him settle down a bit more, but he’ll be fine. I’m happy for him that he was able to get his first goal, and long may it continue with him getting more in the coming weeks.”
The Betway Premiership encounter between Golden Arrows is scheduled to kick off at 19h30 on Wednesday, 18 March 2026 at King Zwelithini Stadium. The match will be broadcast live on SuperSport PSL 202.
