Statement regarding temporary unavailability of Danie Craven Stadium
Stellenbosch, 17 October 2025 – Stellenbosch FC wishes to inform supporters that Danie Craven Stadium will be temporarily unavailable until the end of December due to renovations being undertaken by Stellenbosch University in preparation for the 2026 FISU World University Championship Rugby Sevens.
As the stadium is owned and managed by the University, the decision falls outside of Stellenbosch FC’s control, although the Club supports the continued development of this iconic venue and looks forward to returning once the upgrades have been completed.
While these renovations have resulted in a temporary change of venue, they present an exciting opportunity to bring top-tier football closer to the broader Western Cape community, allowing more supporters to experience Stellenbosch FC live.
Maroon Access Season Ticket Holders can also rest assured that they will remain unaffected by this development, as their cards will continue to provide entry to all home fixtures staged by Stellenbosch FC at both Athlone Stadium and DHL Stadium.
Further details regarding the renovation timelines and the reopening of Danie Craven Stadium will be communicated in due course. We sincerely apologise to our supporters for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding and continued backing during this period.
