Stellenbosch FC is delighted to confirm the signing of Thapelo Mokobodi on a long-term contract following his permanent transfer from Marumo Gallants.

The 23-year-old midfielder joins the Maroons after two seasons with Gallants, during which he helped the club achieve promotion to the Betway Premiership and played a prominent role in the 2024/25 campaign.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to play for Stellenbosch Football Club,” Mokobodi said.

“It’s a dream come true for me to be here because Stellenbosch has become one of the biggest clubs in the country and competes for silverware in all the big tournaments.

“It was an easy decision to join the club,” he added. “I believe they suit my style of play and that I’m going to really enjoy playing my football here.

“Stellenbosch has signed a soldier who will give his all for the club, and I can’t wait to show those qualities to the supporters and play in front of our home fans.”

Mokobodi will wear the No. 29 jersey for Stellenbosch in domestic and continental competitions this season.
