Speaking to the club, the 38-year-old who hails from Idas Valley in Stellenbosch, revealed his pride at prolonging his stay with the club and at having the opportunity to continue serving as a role model in his hometown.

“I am really proud and honoured to continue representing Stellenbosch Football Club as a player, and I know I have a big role and responsibility as a local player to inspire the youth of Stellenbosch,” Langeveldt said.

“The Club obviously means a lot to me, and I’ve been here almost since day one, so I know what it means to wear this special badge. The growth of Stellenbosch FC has been immense, and we always strive to be better every season, so I’m delighted to be part of that.

“My new deal comes with a goalkeeping coaching role under Coach P [Pernell McKop], who I will assist when he’s on national team duty, as well as with the club’s DDC, youth structures, and ladies team.

“I’m really excited about it because it’s something I always wanted to do after my playing career. It obviously comes with a big responsibility, but I’m truly grateful for this opportunity.
