Titus motivated to help Stellies reach Nedbank Cup semi-finals
Fuelled by a winning mentality, Devin Titus is hoping to help Stellenbosch FC advance to the next round of the Nedbank Cup when the club meets SuperSport United this weekend.
This coming Saturday, Stellenbosch Football Club will welcome SuperSport United to Danie Craven Stadium where the two sides will battle it out for a spot in the 2024 Nedbank Cup semi-finals.
Speaking ahead of the encounter, Stellies forward Devin Titus highlighted the club’s ambition to progress in the tournament by defeating a formidable opponent in the form of United.

“We’re looking forward to another quarter-final clash and hoping to reach the semi-final, and then the final, but first we have to focus on the task at hand,” Titus said.
“SuperSport United are always a tough opposition to face, but conditions will hopefully play in our favour at home and hopefully we can get the win.”
Stellenbosch head into Saturday’s clash on the back of a club-record 20-match unbeaten streak across all competitions – a run in which Titus has played an integral role by scoring six times in his last 10 outings.
“Scoring goals is not my main objective,” the 22-year-old says. “The main objective for me is to win games for the team, whether I score or assist or not, as long the team wins.
“I am young but age is just a number and winning is my mentality. Without winning I don’t think I would be the person I am. That comes with hard work and without hard work, I can’t be Devin Titus, and without winning I can’t be Devin Titus.

“…I want to help the club win more trophies, and with the Carling Knockout already in our bag, hopefully the Nedbank Cup is next.”
Among Titus’ recent returns are goals against Orlando Pirates, Cape Town City, and Kaizer Chiefs, among others, but the South Africa U-23 international insists he’s not focused on the opponents, only on the results.
“I always just try to score goals or record assists but as I said previously, it’s all about winning for me,” he concludes.
“If we win against SuperSport United and I don’t score or assist, that’s fine, as long as we win and progress to the next round.”
