The 28-year-old made 46 appearances across all competitions during his four-year spell in Naturena and revealed that he was excited to begin a new chapter in his career.
“I feel very happy to be here and to be part of Stellenbosch Football Club,” Matlou said. “I’m looking forward to this new journey that I’ve chosen to take.
“Stellenbosch is a well-structured club that plays good football and has been competing every season. I saw myself being part of that.
“Having watched and played against Stellenbosch throughout my career, I saw that this is a team with a winning mentality and an environment where I can achieve even more.
“It’s not going to be an easy season, and it’s a long journey, but if we take it one game at a time, with a winning desire, we can achieve big things together.”

Matlou’s arrival sees him return to the Western Cape, where he previously enjoyed loan spells with Cape Town All Stars and Cape Umoya United while on the books of Bidvest Wits, then notably coached by Gavin Hunt.
He subsequently spent two seasons abroad in Portugal with Sanjoanense, before returning to South Africa to turn out for Moroka Swallows and Chiefs.
