Hunt aiming to capitalise on home advantage against TS Galaxy
Gavin Hunt is hoping to make home advantage count when Stellenbosch host TS Galaxy at Danie Craven Stadium on Friday night.
The Maroons welcome the Rockets to Stellenbosch on Friday evening for a highly anticipated Betway Premiership encounter, with just one point separating the two sides in the league standings.
Speaking ahead of the match, Stellies head coach, Gavin Hunt, revealed that preparations for the match had gone well and that his side is aiming to make the most of their home ground advantage.

“It’s been the first time that we’ve had a full week to train after the last two months that were so hectic, and we’re looking forward to the game,” Hunt said.
“It’s number eight in the league against number nine, so it’s going to be a tight game, but at home we’ll be looking to take advantage. It won’t be easy, though, because they’re a good side who can always spring a surprise.
“It’s always a positive to play at home. You’re not packing a suitcase, you know, and people don’t always understand the challenges that come with that, so we’re happy to be at home and to be playing this match at Danie Craven.
“I also love Friday night football. I think it’s the best time to play, and hopefully we can get a positive result for the fans.”
Stellenbosch are currently on a five-match unbeaten run in the league, dating back to the Club’s last defeat in December last year, but Hunt is adamant his side cannot begin to rest on their laurels.
“Confidence can turn, so you have to be at it all the time,” he added. “Everybody has to do their job and be on it. When we don’t have the ball, everybody must be looking to get it back, and when we do have it, everybody must be looking to play, be positive, and create chances.”
The Betway Premiership match between Stellenbosch FC and TS Galaxy is scheduled to kick off at 19h30 on Friday, 13 March 2026 at Danie Craven Stadium. Tickets are available for R40 from Webtickets and Pick n Pay outlets.
