Stellenbosch Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Jason Rhoda, 42, as the Club’s new General Manager from 1 April 2025.

Rhoda had been a part-time member of the Stellenbosch FC setup since inception and previously served as the assistant coach of the Club’s reserve team, playing a key role in graduating numerous players to professional football, and securing two Diski Challenge titles and two Premier League Next Gen Cups.

His work at Stellenbosch FC was complemented by active duty with the South African Police Service where he dedicated the last two decades of his life to serving the local Stellenbosch community.

Rhoda steps into the vacant General Manager role following the departure of former GM Garth Le Roux, another Stellenbosch native, who parted ways with the Club at the start of the current season.

“We are delighted to appoint Jason Rhoda as our new General Manager,” CEO Rob Benadie said.

“His long-standing association with the Club, combined with his leadership and organisational skills, understanding of local football, and deep-rooted connection to Stellenbosch and its people, make him the ideal candidate to take on this important role.”

On his appointment, Rhoda said, “As someone who was born and bred in Stellenbosch, this is an incredibly special honour and opportunity for me and my family, but it is also a responsibility that I take very seriously.

“There is value in the continuity of having a Stellenbosch local serving in this role and I recognise the importance of what it means to the community to have someone who they can relate to and who can hopefully serve as a role model to our youth.

“I’ve been here since day one and have a good understanding of the workings of the Club, and I’m confident that, with the support of the strong administrative team alongside me, we can continue to uphold the ethos and grow the legacy of Stellenbosch Football Club.”
