Stellenbosch Football Club hosted its annual Youth Awards ceremony on Saturday following the conclusion of the 2024 campaign.

It was another year to remember for Stellies’ Young Maroons who acquitted themselves with aplomb across the Club’s various age groups, with the U-12 side notably ending their league season in third, and the U-14s as runners-up in their stream.

The biggest plaudits were, however, reserved for the Club’s U-18 team which concluded a remarkable unbeaten domestic league season to be crowned champions for the first time, while also retaining their Engen Knockout Challenge title in the Western Cape.

Indeed, the side’s only defeat across all competitions was in the final of the Engen Champ of Champs competition where Jean-Pierre Faruggia’s charges fell to narrow defeat at the hands of Kaizer Chiefs.

Stellies’ standout players from the respective youth levels were recognised at Lentelus Sportsground on Saturday where the Club and community turned up to celebrate the stars of tomorrow.
