Stellenbosch FC have been pitted against Chippa United in the Round of 16 of the inaugural edition of the Carling Knockout.

Stellenbosch FC will kick start their 2023 Carling Knockout Campaign with an away trip to the Eastern Cape after being drawn against Chippa United in the Round of 16 of the competition on Tuesday afternoon.

The highly-anticipated cup encounter is provisionally scheduled to take place on the weekend of 21 and 22 October 2023, with final dates, kick-off times, venues, and ticketing information to be confirmed in due course.

• Teams will be financially rewarded by the sponsor for scoring the first and fastest goals of their respective matches.

• The winner of the fan-voted Man of the Match award will receive a R100 000.00 reward from the sponsor.

Details surrounding the tournament prize money and the venue for this year’s final will also be communicated to participating clubs in the near future.

The winner of this year’s Carling Knockout will take on an all-star team and coach, as voted for by supporters, in next year’s revamped Carling Cup at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane, with that match scheduled to take place on 6 January 2023.
