On the back of a match-winning performance in the MTN8, Andre De Jong has revealed that he is looking forward to Friday’s league meeting against his former club Royal AM
Stellenbosch FC are set to take on Royal AM in a DStv Premiership encounter at the Harry Gwala Stadium in Pietermaritzburg on Friday evening, where both sides will be looking to pick up an important three points in the log standings.

“It was nice to get my first goal of the season and to contribute to the team winning and progressing to the semi-finals,” De Jong reflected ahead of Friday’s match.
“It was a massive win for us against SuperSport United last weekend, especially coming off the disappointing mid-week result against Polokwane City, and this Friday we will just look to build on that.
“There is obviously a quick turnaround into the Royal AM game so there’s been a lot of recovery and regeneration this week, but I think we’re fighting fit to go and get a good result.
De Jong previously spent six months with Royal AM in 2022, scoring three times in 13 appearances across all competitions, and reveals that he is looking forward to the challenge of taking on a familiar foe.

“I’m very much looking forward to playing Royal AM. I spent six months there and thoroughly enjoyed my time with the club, so I’m looking forward to seeing a couple of friendly faces out on the field,” he concluded.
“That said, it was disappointing when we played them and lost toward the back end of last season, so I think we owe them one in a way, and hopefully, we can go out and get the three points.”
