South Africa international Kgaogelo Sekgota joins Stellenbosch FC
Stellenbosch Football Club is delighted to announce that the club has acquired the services of South Africa international Kgaogelo Sekgota.
The 26-year-old arrives in the Cape Winelands following a spell with Kaizer Chiefs and has penned a long-term deal with the club ahead of the 2023/24 season.
“Sekgota is a massive signing for us,” head coach Steve Barker said. “He’s a player who we earmarked a while back to try and get into the club, so we are delighted that he has now signed with us.
“He’s an exciting attacking player who has good pedigree, having represented his country, and who has the ability to go past players, to create opportunities for his teammates, and to score goals himself.
“We are looking for a massive impact from him and hope to help him get his career back to where it belongs, which is right at the top end of the game.”
Sekgota made 24 league appearances for Kaizer Chiefs last season and boasts a total of 78 matches in the DStv Premiership in total across spells with the Amakhosi, Moroka Swallows, and Bidvest Wits.
He also previously represented Vitória Setúbal in the Portuguese top-flight and turned out for Stumbras in Lithuania, and has to date won four caps for Bafana Bafana.
