Stellenbosch Football Club is delighted to announce the acquisition of South Africa international Basil Mphahlele.

Mphahlele has signed a long-term deal with the club and arrives in the Cape Winelands on a free transfer after spending the last four seasons with Baroka FC.

The 23-year-old adds international experience to the Stellies camp with five Bafana Bafana caps to his name, and was part of the national team squad which won the 2021 COSAFA Cup title in Gqeberha.

“Basil Mphahlele is a quality player with the ability to play as a full-back who can get forward,” head coach Steve Barker said.

“He is a young player with good energy and a lot of potential, and he has been brought into the team to add depth and quality in his position.”
