SFC beats AmaTuks

This coming Saturday the Stellenbosch Football Club will take on Jomo Cosmos at the Idas Valley Sport Stadium.

Kick-off is at 15:00.

SFC is still top of the National First Division log thanks to another victory. SFC has 20 points after 10 matches. This is after beating AmaTuks last Saturday in Pretoria 3-0. Iqraam Rayners scored twice and Deano van Rooyen also got his name on the score sheet for the Stellenbosch club.

One point behind SFC on the NFD log is Tshakhuma FC (19) followed by TS Sporting (18). SFC has won six of its 10 games and scored 15 goals thus far. Jomo Cosmos is 8th on the log and won three matches.

Captain Jarrod Moroole is a happy man at present and along with his teammates he can’t wait to play at home again.

“Winning against AmaTuks moved us further from them on the log table and we kept our number one spot as well. That win against the University of Pretoria boosted our confidence and even made the players more excited to play the next game,” said Moroole.

“This week the focus will be to manage ourselves well and maintain our fitness and mental strengths. The game against Jomo Cosmos is very important. We can see ourselves stretch away from them by nine points and make it difficult for them to catch us if we get the victory.”

There are five more matches to be played in 2018 and only two are at home so fans better make use of the opportunity to watch their heroes in action. The NFD season comes to an end in May 2019.
